HURRICANE IVAN DAMAGE AND RECOVERY PROCESS
Hurricane Ivan impacted Jamaica on September 11th 2004. Hurricane Ivan was coming straight for Jamaica but God intervened and kept the eye of the storm at sea. However, the hurricane winds did considerable damage on the south coast of the island. Our YWAM base, Stone's Hope, near Mandeville, was hit hard. We have recently stepped in to become the overseers of the property along with its new director Janet Sue Whetzel. The primary ministry of Stone's Hope is the Bethel Christian Primary School which serves the community children. A lot of refurbishing has taken place with most of the buildings back in good condition. YWAM Stones Hope Ministry Vision is to purpose with God to Disciple and mobilize each person through education to change nations with truth.

What we are in need of:
1. Building teams who are willing to come and help rebuild.
2. Finances. We estimate the building materials will cost around $170,000 usd.
3. Donated furniture to replace what was destroyed. The school could also use new books, games, puzzles, sports equipment, etc. We are in need of people willing to put a container of items together to be shipped to Jamaica.
4. Christian schools to partner with Bethel Christian primary school for different projects or to support a teacher. All teachers are YWAM staff which means they are volunteers and have to raise their own support as well. The tuition level is so low that they can barely provide a lunch meal for the children.
