FOUNDATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SCHOOL (FCD)

What is FCD?

The Foundations in Community Development (FCD) is a course that will equip you with the needed tools and principles to bring Biblical transformation to individuals and communities.


The focus deals with the root problems of a person or a community which when Biblical principles are applied, God will bring transformation.  The FCD teachings maintain a wholistic perspective based on the model of Jesus (Luke 2:52) while focusing on building the Kingdom of God. 


The  FCD starts with a three month lecture phase on the YWAM Montego Bay campus.  It follows with a three month field assignment which takes place in the local Jamaican community or in an international setting.

The Field Assignment:

The purpose of the 12-week field assignment is the application of the principles of community transformation learned in the lecture phase.  This begins with an assessment process of a community and continues with implementation of Biblical development truths that bring a wholistic transformation.  After the school, opportunities will be provided by both Youth With A Mission and Operation Save Jamaica for long-term ministry involvement in transformation efforts.
